Douglas E. Barnhart, President of the Associated General Contractors of America, and Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO of the Associated General Contractors of America, met with President Bush Tuesday, August 12 to discuss the impact of rising petroleum costs on the construction industry.

The Producer Price Index for inputs to construction rose 10.4 percent between June 2007 and June 2008, which has raised prices in construction materials. See the AGC for more information on petroleum trends and the meeting with President Bush.
