After nine hours of negotiations Monday, contractors came to an agreement with the Laborers District Council and Operating Engineers Local 150, who had been on strike since July 1.

The three-year pact calls for raises of 3.25 percent each year for Operators and $1.75/$1.80/$1.85 for Laborers. Those increases are retroactive to June 1. The Laborers have already ratified the agreement and Local 150 is set to hold a ratification vote Wednesday evening. Reports indicated that pickets were removed Tuesday.

Negotiations with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters resume Wednesday morning. Builders Association members can view negotiation updates by contacting Andy Cole for a member login, and are welcome to call Director of Labor Denise Herdrich at 847-318-8585 for more on this or any other labor issue.
