Pending ratification by both MARBA's Board of Directors and the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, a tentative deal was reached Wednesday evening that put striking Carpenters back to work in Will & Grundy counties.

The four-year agreement also covers Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and McHenry counties. It calls for economic increases of $2, $2, $2.10 and $2.20, with the entire sum in the first two years going into the fringe benefit funds.

For details on the work rules addressed in the proposed contract or a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding between contractors and Laborers from another recently completed negotiation, view our Labor Negotiation Update page. For a member login, contact Communications Manager Andy Cole.
