New Safety Standards For Cranes, Derricks

Wednesday afternoon, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) held a web conference to announce the release final regulations concerning the safety of cranes and derricks in construction. View the regulations on OSHA's website or see an excerpt from the web conference.

Major changes impacting construction include but are not limited to: New ground condition requirements; Third-party qualified operators; Qualified riggers; Qualified signal persons; and increased inspection requirements.
