Regional Transportation Summit - Macomb

August 22, 2012, 11:30am-1:30pm

MidAmerica National Bank Conference Center
Spoon River College Community Outreach Center
2500 East Jackson
Macomb, IL 61455

Part of a series of three summits, this event is provided by the Transportation for Illinois Coalition and will highlight several topics of concern regarding Illinois transportation infrastructure and funding. Because Illinois is a hub for highway, rail, waterway, and air transportation, maintaining these transportation systems is crucial for the state's economy.

The Macomb Regional Transportation Summit will include discussions of the state transportation program and passenger rail service impact, as well as an update on federal transportation. Speakers will include Doug Whitley, President of Illinois Chamber of Commerce; Bruce Biagini, Transportation Chair for Macomb area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Corp.; and Tom Carper, Amtrak Chairman.

Registration for this event is open and has a fee of $35.

Similar events will be held during the month of August in Elgin and Mt. Vernon.
