Where Are Stimulus Funds Going?
Funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) are beginning to flow into the construction industry, and the AGC of America is helping its members know where the funds are going and how they can find the work.
However, while the Department of Transportation and other agencies have started spending the money, industry members and community leaders are concerned that the funds don't appear to be benefiting many Chicago contractors or minority firms. Listen to a story that aired Tuesday on WBEZ-FM (Chicago Public Radio).
In other stimulus news, the Office of Federal Contract and Compliance Programs is hosting a free forum on the ARRA June 30 at the Rosemont Convention Center. The AGC is looking for success stories and would like to hear from any member working on a stimulus-funded project.
