As agreements are ratified and details continue to trickle in, members can check our Labor Negotiation Update page for information on memorandums, allocations and other goodies. Among recent additions:

  • Allocations for Operating Engineers Local 150
  • Terms of Agreements with Local 150
  • Memorandum of Understanding with Laborers District Council

Contact Communications Manager Andy Cole for a member login to view this information. Keep an eye out for future communications detailing negotiations with Plumbers Local 130 and the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters ratification vote, which takes place August 7.

New Crane Safety Law

OSHA is releasing final regulations concerning the safety of cranes and derricks in construction. View the regulations on OSHA's website or see an excerpt from a Wednesday afternoon web conference announcing the release of the long awaited rules.

Major changes impacting construction include but are not limited to: New ground condition requirements; Third-party qualified operators; Qualified riggers; Qualified signal persons; and increased inspection requirements.

Bid Opportunities

The Illinois Capital Development Board alerted the Association to an opportunity for work at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign expanding remote library storage. This project is covered by a Project Labor Agreement. Information regarding workforce hiring goals is also available.

Harbour Contractors, Inc. of Plainfield seeks bids for the construction of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter Store in Wateska by August 2. Harbour is also accepting bids for the CN Matteson Connection No. 3 project until August 4.
